About The Breeder
|
My name is Heather Holderby, and I am a Licensed Veterinary Technician. I have a Bachelors of Science in Animal Science from Michigan State University, and have worked in veterinary medicine since 2017. I enjoy competing my dogs in the UKC Elite Shed Dog Series and dock jumping, and have trained in agility and scent work.
Healthy dogs are my passion, and working in a veterinary clinic has given me an insider's look at the health problems so prevalent in badly bred Labradors - chronic ear infections, allergies, bad skin, preventable genetic conditions, and painful hips. While not all of these things can be controlled by genetics, breeding puppies from healthy parents gives the puppies their best chance at a long, healthy life without breaking their owners' banks. That is why I genetic test, OFA test, and breed dilute-free puppies, and why I encourage clients to only buy from responsible breeders if they are choosing not to adopt from a shelter - while the puppy might cost more in the initial investment, it will save you in the long run! |
